Cathie later achieved a degree in education from Chadron State College and started her first career by teaching grade school in a one-room schoolhouse in the Weyerts’ Community east of Gurley, NE.

On May 21, 1976, she was married to Wayne McRoberts of Gurley. They soon became the proud parents of Keenan McRoberts and Carmen (McRoberts) Anderson.

Cathie was a compassionate and caring person. Her positive attitude in the face of adversity gave strength and hope to all who crossed her path. Her captivating personality and radiant smile had the ability to light up a room. She had the gift of sharing friendship with everyone she met. “Life is good” was her motto and she lived every day to the fullest. Cathie touched countless lives and provided a shining example of a life well-lived.
