Shirley Blausey, 82, of Oshkosh, passed away Saturday morning, October 15, 2011 at the Garden County Health Services in Oshkosh.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oshkosh with Pastor Sarah Cordray officiating. Burial will follow in the Oshkosh City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh.

A memorial has been established to Garden County Health Services or to the Garden County Rescue Unit.
Shirley was born on October 5, 1929 in rural Garden County to James Alva and Iris (Brown) Orr. She grew up on the homestead and walked 3 miles to attend grade school. She went on to graduate from Garden County High School.
On July 23, 1949 she married Bobby Blausey in Oshkosh. To this union 4 children were born. The couple separated for several years and during this time Shirley showed her perseverance by working 3 jobs to support her family. She worked at Midwec, Garden County Hospital and at the nursing home.
Shirley and Bob loved to travel and socialize. She loved being active at the senior center, in church, in her exercise class and any other social event she could attend. She especially enjoyed spending time with her group of Red Hat Ladies. She collected salt and pepper shakers and had accumulated over 600. She will also be remembered for her love of cats.
In most recent years, she was an active volunteer at the Garden County Museums and at the Oshkosh Senior Center.
Shirley was a lifelong member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and was active on many committees throughout the years. She especially loved helping in the kitchen.
Shirley is survived by her children, Richard and wife, Carol Blausey of Sargent Bluff, IA, John and wife, Deborah Blausey of Norfolk, NE, Susan and husband, Gary Williamson of Wood River, NE, and Donald and wife, Theresa Blausey of Chadron, NE; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; aunt, Gladys Schweitzer of Lewellen; and many other cousins, extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Bob, in 2001; and brother, Clifford.
