Keith Wright, 92 of Chappell, Nebraska died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at his home in Chappell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 1, 2011 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Chappell. Services eill conclude at the funeral home, with inurnment at a later date.

There is no visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday; the casket will be open prior to the service on Thursday.

Memorials have been established to the Memorial Health Center Hospice.

Oscar Keith Wright, the son of Oscar Fern and Mabel (Doughty) Wright was born August 13, 1919 at Chappell, Nebraska. He grew up on a farm north of Chappell. He graduated from Chappell High School in 1937. He then went to Omaha, Nebraska where he took a course in aircraft construction. After that he moved to Santa Monica, California where he got a job at Douglas Aircraft. It was there he met Betty Johnson and they were married in November of 1943. He entered the U.S. Army on September 7, 1944 where he served in the infantry in the southern Philippines. After his discharge on February 15, 1946 he returned to Chappell where he was engaged in farming.

On March 30, 1975 he was united in marriage to Genene Carlson at Chappell, Nebraska. She preceded him in death earlier this year.

Keith was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion and the Odd Fellows. He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his children: Larry (Sherry) Wright of Midland, TX, Lynda (Calvin) Duncan of Chappell, NE and Leta Pontious of Silver Springs, MD; step children: Max Carlson of Julesburg, CO, Kathy (Jerry) Cabela of Chappell, NE and Doug Carlson of Chappell, NE; 14 Grandchildren and 13 Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and nine brothers and sisters.
