Bob was the third child born to Ray and Anna Rexroth on January 11, 1919, at their farmstead in southwestern Garden County. His education started in Goodview School, continued at District 17, and culminated with his graduation from Sidney High School in 1936. He was active in 4-H as a youth, and in 1941 he was awarded a national trip to Washington D. C. In 1942, he was drafted into the Army Air Corp, serving as a Gunnery Instructor near Kingman, AZ. His overseas stations were England and Belgium, where he flew photography missions over Europe. Months after his military discharge from Fort Leavenworth, KS, he married Mary Ruth Davis in Lisco, NE, on September 15, 1946.

They made their home on a farm northeast of Sidney. Bob continued growing wheat and millet along with managing a cow-calf herd with son Keith and son-in-law David Nyffeler until his retirement in 2006. His love of the land was displayed through many conservation practices including terracing, wildlife preserves, tree planting, and land improvement projects.

Bob enjoyed serving people. He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He was chairman of the finance committee when the church was built. He served many years on the Cheyenne County ASCS committee, local and state 4-H councils, District 17 school board, and various Co-op boards. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 286 in Lodgepole, NE. Bob enjoyed his winters in Mesa, AZ. A favorite pastime in later years was playing cards with his friend and companion, Ann Noderer.

He is survived by his friend and companion Ann Noderer, Mesa, AZ, his four children, and their spouses: Rollie and Tania Rexroth, Littleton, CO; Keith and Nancy Rexroth, Sidney NE; Nancy and David Nyffeler, Gurley, NE; and Dean and Lisa Rexroth, Valdosta, GA. His eleven grandchildren are Tara Rexroth, Highlands Ranch, CO; Tricia and Jim Treinen, Boulder, CO; Valerie and Bradley Olson, Manhattan, KS; Ryan Rexroth, Vail, CO; Andrea Rexroth and fiancé David Anthony, Lincoln, NE; Dustin and Kristen Nyffeler, Blaine, MN; Travis and Laycee Rexroth, Parker, CO; Nichole Rexroth, Corpus Christi, TX; James Rexroth of Chicago, IL; Denise Nyffeler, PCV-Kazakhstan; and Mackenzie Rexroth, Valdosta, GA. His four great-grand children are Caleb Miller, Clara Treinen, Saydie Rexroth and Addison Nyffeler. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Darlene Davis, Fort Collins, CO, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, his parents, and his sisters Alice Rexroth, Helen Rexroth, and Doris Closman.
