Lucille Wiegand, 73 of Sidney, Nebraska died Monday morning, April 9, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sidney with the Rev. Dixie Anders officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home. Friends who wish may sign the register book on Friday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.
Lucille M. Wiegand, the daughter of Virgil and Lilly (Grotfeld) Dean was born December 15, 1938 at Kearney, Nebraska. The family moved to Sidney in 1952 where she attended high school, graduating in 1956.
On August 30, 1958 she was united in marriage to Walter Wiegand at the First United Methodist Church in Sidney. To this union two sons were born: Wesley and Brent. Lucille worked for Northwestern Bell and later for the Sidney Telegraph for 23 years before retiring.
She enjoyed camping as a member of the Good Sam Club, ocean cruising and reading. As well as the Good Sam Club, she was a member of the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband Walt of Sidney, NE; two sons: Wesley of Sidney, NE and Brent and wife Cheryl of Aurora, CO; four grandchildren: Lee of Sidney, NE, Marcene of Mitchell, NE, Maggie of Greeley, CO and Shannon of Aurora, CO; four great-grandchildren: Kolton, Alayana, Barrett and Brett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and one aunt and uncle.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
