Pat Serres, 80 of Sidney, Nebraska died Wednesday afternoon, February 13, 2013 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 16, 2013 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with Father Art Faesser of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home with inurnment to follow in the Montrose Cemetery in Sioux County at a later date.

Memorials have been established to the donor’s choice.

Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home. Friends who wish can sign the register book from 1:00 P.m. to 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Serres, the daughter of Raymond J. and Josephine (Meals) Hunsaker was born February 27, 1932 at Lincoln, Nebraska. She was raised in Stromsburg, Nebraska where she attended school, graduating from Stromsburg High School. She then attended college where she earned a bachelor’s degree in music. She taught grade school and high school music in Spencer, Nebraska where she also gave voice lessons.

She moved to Crawford, Nebraska in 1971 where she worked in the medical clinic. It was there she met her future husband Eugene Serres and they were married on April 17, 1979 in the Catholic Church in Crawford. They moved to Stromsburg in 1986 and to Sidney in 2006. She had been a resident of the Golden Living Center since 2009.

Pat enjoyed working jig saw puzzles and crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her son Royce and wife Pauline Brown of Alliance, NE; two daughters: Heather Serres of Hot Springs, SD and Lynn and husband Dan Borges of Sidney, NE; 9 Grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gene.
