LaVonne E. O'Dell

December 30, 1929 — March 10, 2013

LaVonne O’Dell, 83 of Sidney, Nebraska died early Sunday morning, March 10, 2013 at Sidney Regional Medical Center, Extended Care in Sidney.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 18, 2013 in the Sidney Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Leonard Suhr officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established in care of the family.

LaVonne Elizabeth O’Dell was born to Leo and Ila (Newton) Jacobs on December 30, 1929 in Oshkosh, Nebraska.

On February 17, 1944 she was united in marriage to Garland L. O’Dell at St. Francis, Kansas and to that union three children were born: Donald, Daniel and Debra. The lived on the O’Dell family ranch north of Lisco, Nebraska until moving to California where they managed the Seven Springs Ranch. The returned to Oshkosh before moving to Sidney in 1971.

LaVonne loved traveling, camping and spending time with family.

She is survived by her son Dan O’Dell of Sidney, NE; her daughter Deb Wieser and husband Randy of Sidney, NE; two brothers: Kenny Jacobs and wife Mara of Washington and Denny Jacobs and wife Maryann of New Hampshire; sister Terri Steyer and husband Steve of Gering, NE; two grandchildren: Natasha Vizina and fiancé Richard Haupt of Sidney, NE and Cody Aure of Potter, NE; two great-granddaughters: Kaydence Nicole and Bentli Ann of Sidney, NE and numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Ronald, parents, sister Marlene Thompson and grandson Donald Vizina.
