Kathryn Roberts, 87, of Lewellen passed away Saturday morning, November 16, 2013 at the Presbyterian/St. Luke's Hospital in Denver.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Oshkosh United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Weinerman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh.

Holechek Funeral Home & Cremations in Oshkosh is in charge of the arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Katy’s name to the Garden County Health Services Nursing Home, 1100 W 2nd Street, Oshkosh, NE or to the United Methodist Church, 411 W 3rd St, Oshkosh, NE 69154.

Kathryn Ann Roberts was born on April 19, 1926 in Broadwater, Nebraska to John and Fanny (Wells) Ross. She grew up and attended school in Broadwater. She attended her senior year in Oshkosh and graduated in 1942. She attended one year at the University of Nebraska.

On March 18, 1945 she was united in marriage to Robert Paisley Roberts in Oshkosh. They made their home in Colorado during the war. They returned to Nebraska for a short time and then once again moved to Colorado. Katy spent 30 years working for the Englewood Colorado Water Department. After retirement the couple moved to Lake McConaughy.

Katy loved all water activities, waterskiing, fishing, boating and jetskiing. She enjoyed playing bridge, bird watching, and her family and grandchildren. She was always extremely proud of her husband’s service and proud to be an American.

She was a member of the Oshkosh United Methodist Church.

Katy is survived by her children, Larry and wife Shirley Roberts of Evergreen, CO, Jan and husband Rick McGowen of Littleton, CO, and James Roberts and special friend, Michelle Blaine of Englewood, CO; grandchildren, Mitch and wife Candace Roberts and their children, Austin, Laini, and Kailee, Craig Quisenberry, Caren Hackley, Shawnie and husband Jason Laughlin and their daughter, Violet Jayne; sister Nancy and Dick Paisley; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, in 2009, son, John Roberts; sister, Dorothy Patrick; and granddaughter, Jill Roberts.
