Robert Scripter, Jr, 58, of Oshkosh and Minatare passed away early Thursday morning, November 28, 2013 at his home in Minatare.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh with Pastor Lynn Lutz officiating. Burial will follow in the Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in Rob’s name to Prairie Haven Hospice in Scottsbluff.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Oshkosh is serving the Scripter family.

Robert Eugene Scripter, Jr. was born on September 19, 1955 in Lewellen, Nebraska to Robert and Genevieve (Neff) Scripter. He grew up and attended school in Lewellen, graduating in 1974. After high school he began work at Marshalltown in Oshkosh where he worked for many years.

He was united in marriage to Nicolette DeCiero in 1979 in Oshkosh. Five children followed. The couple lived in Oshkosh and Rob worked at Valley tire for some time. They later divorced and Rob had moved to Minatare to be with his girlfriend of 4 years, Tanya Hartshorn.

Rob enjoyed working on cars, auctions, old western movies and seeing his grandchildren. He was a simple man that enjoyed music, dancing, and helping others.

He is survived by sons, Quentin Scripter of Loveland, Colorado, Zac Scripter of Denver, Colorado, and Dustin Scripter of Denver; daughters, Amber and husband, Troy Malone of Ogallala, Chantel Scripter of Ogallala, and Hanna Hartshorn of Minatare; his mother, Genevieve of Sterling, Colorado; girlfriend, Tanya Hartshorn of Minatare; sisters, Diane and husband, Rich Kiolbasa of Sterling; Dee and husband, Lawrence Martin of New Mexico; grandchildren, Owen Scripter and Trent, Addison and Aubree Malone and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Eugene Scripter, Sr., niece, Paulin Dianne Forney, and nephew, Francis John Martin.
