Mary Louise Stockham

Mary Louise Stockham, 91 of Cheyenne, Wyoming and a former Chappell resident died Sunday evening, January 4, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center in Cheyenne.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the Chappell Assembly of God church with Pastor Rich Graeff officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Chappell Cemetery with military rites.

Memorials have been established to the Veterans Administration Medical Center, C.L.C. in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home.

Mary Louise Kasparek was born September 27, 1923 at Narka, Kansas, the daughter of Edward J. and Mary Jane (Brown) Kasparek. The family moved to Lodgepole, Nebraska where her dad had a blacksmith shop. They later moved to Chappell, Nebraska where Mary attended school, graduating from Chappell High School. She joined the Army towards the end of World War II, serving for almost two years in the Women’s Air Corp. She was discharged on August 29, 1945.

She met Glen Davis Stockham and they were married. To this union three children were born: Gladys Jane, Edward Charles (Butch) and Glenda Louise who died shortly after birth. They spent most of their married life in the Nebraska area, however they traveled and lived in many cities and states with Glen’s job as a lineman. Glen passed away in June of 1982.

Mary worked as an L.P.N., as a salesman for the phone company, a waitress, home health provider and at a funeral home in Denver.

Mary and Bud Robinson of Oshkosh, Nebraska were married later.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed hunting, fishing, canning and traveling. She was always a bargain shopper and loved clothes. She was known for starting her Christmas shopping the day after Christmas.

Survivors include her son Edward of Akron, CO; five grandchildren: Terri and husband Gary McMahon of Thornton, CO, Russ and wife Judy Marr of Arvada, CO, Donny and wife Margaret Marr of Yuma, CO, Tracy and husband Patrick Basler of Akron, CO and Jason and wife Michele Stockham of Evans, CO; 16 Great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters: Glenda and Jane; two sisters: Ilene Kalb and Zella Wannamaker and one brother Othal Kasparek.
