Douglas Mark Rehfeld, the only child born to Arnold F. Rehfeld and Esther R (Neilson) Rehfeld was born on May 10, 1953, in Chappell, Nebraska .The small family left the Chappell area so Arnold could find work, and Doug attended school in Boulder until he was 16, when the family returned to Chappell, where Doug graduated high school. After graduation, Doug and his cousin Gary Jeppson became partners in a tree trimming business. The business was somewhat successful, and Doug worked with Gary for several years cutting trees, running cement, and various other jobs around the small community, until poor health forced Doug to retire early and Gary took over the business.

Doug was outgoing and friendly. He was well known and had many friends. He enjoyed hunting fishing and anything else that was outdoors. He spent many days at the Chappell pond with his dog walking or playing fetch.

Doug was married for a short time to Peggy (Palmer) Jones. To this union was born a little girl they named Ashley in 1986. The marriage ended in divorce, but Doug remained close to Peggy’s family and spent as much time with Ashley as possible.

Doulas is survived by his daughter Ashley, son in law, Gabriel and two granddaughter, Alexus(10) and Haylee (8), all of Wray, CO. Gary Jeppson and family of Chappell, NE, and his longtime friend Larry Williams, of Chappell, NE.
