Ellen Lessman, 74 of rural Broadwater, Nebraska died Monday morning, June 1, 2015 at her home north of Dalton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 5, 2015 in the Salem Lutheran Church in Gurley with Pastor Ted Bourret officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Salem Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Hour or the donor’s choice.

Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney, with the family present from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

Ellen Mae Lessman, the daughter of Harry and Ellen (Fultcher) Wilson was born July 31, 1940 at Broadwater, Nebraska. She graduated from Broadwater High School in 1959. After graduation she worked as a waitress at Hutchinson’s Café, as a secretary at Dutton Lumber Co., and lastly at Goodall Manufacturing in Ogallala, Nebraska.
On April 9, 1961 she was united in marriage to LaMond Lessman at Broadwater. They farmed and ranched all their married lives. To this union one daughter, Tonya was born.

Ellen was a former member of the Broadwater Bridge Club, the NBC Bridge Club, the Women’s DBR Bridge Club, and the True Country Dance Club. She enjoyed her friends and family, especially the grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband LaMond of Broadwater, NE; her daughter Tonya and husband Rich Stichka of Bridgeport, NE; her grandchildren Randi and Tanner Stichka both of Bridgeport, NE; two sisters: Peggy and husband Phil Covalt of Broadwater, NE and Rita Ring of Elgin, NE; three sister-in-laws: Eloise Wilson of Loveland, CO, Nancy Wilson of Wichita, KS and Cheryl Borges of Dalton, NE and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death her parents; two brothers Don and Lewis and one brother-in-law Bill.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Lessman family.
