Howard Russell, 87 of Chappell, Nebraska died Monday morning, January 4, 2016 at Sidney Regional Medical Center in Sidney, Nebraska.
Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled.
Howard Dewayne Russell, one of eight children born to Robert and Ivy (Wright) Russell was born November 10, 1928 at Scott City, Kansas. He grew up and received his education in Gove County near Scott City.
On June 13, 1951 he was united in marriage to Eldora Miller in Scott City and to this union 10 children were born. He and Eldora lived in various locations where Howard worked in different occupations, lastly in his own mechanic’s shop. They moved to Chappell in 2003.
Survivors include his wife Eldora of Chappell, NE; five sons: Herbert, Lyle and Bradley all of North Platte, NE, David of Utah and Stanley of McCook, NE; two daughters: Charlotte Wendel of Garden City, KS and Brenda Smith of North Platte, NE, as well as numerous Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, all seven siblings and three sons: Stacey, Howard, Jr. and Kevin.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Chappell assisted the family with arrangements.
