Calvin Carl Larson was born April 25, 1930 at Sidney, Nebraska to Carl and Amy (Willeford) Larson. He grew up south of Potter on the family homestead with his parents, sisters: Ann, Joyce, Merrill, Sherrill and brother Bud. He and graduated from the Potter public schools.

Calvin met his bride to be, Dorothy Benzel, at a rural youth function in Sidney. They were married on September 17, 1950 in Sidney. Calvin and Dorothy farmed and ranched south of Potter where they were blessed with five children: Gary, Janet, Scott, Craig and Linda. He was a loyal and loving husband, father and grandfather. Recently celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary, he described his and Dorothy’s many miles of travels; grinning as he said they orbited the sun 65 times together.

He was a hardworking farmer and rancher. He had the ability to captivate any audience with his story telling, making the room roar with laughter. He was both a scholar and a cowboy. He was a legend if there ever was one. He will be greatly missed by many.
He loved Jesus as his Lord and Savior; raising his kids to know Him as well as he did. He was the kind of husband and father that every man should strive to be.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy; his children: Gary (Thuy Phan) Larson of Denver, CO, Janet (Rick) Davis of Big Springs, TX, Scott (Rhonda) Larson of Alliance, NE, Craig (Amy) Larson of Centennial, CO and Linda (Dean) Allen of Lewiston, MT; two sisters: Ann Geu of Sidney, NE and Merrill (Ron) Alfs of Shickley, NE; one brother Bud Larson of Denver, CO; 12 Grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren.
