Billie Frerichs, 81 of Gurley, Nebraska passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, July 7, 2016 at her home at Lake McConaughy.

Memorials services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney. Services will conclude at the funeral home. There will be a reception following the services.

Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established in care of the family.

Billie Colleen Frerichs, the daughter of Arthur and Alice (Smith) Sparks was born April 3, 1935 at Magnolia, Colorado. The family lived in many places where she received her education, before settling in Gurley, Nebraska. It was there that she met her future husband Arthur Frerichs. They were married on March 14, 1954 at the Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Gurley.

After their marriage her husband worked for the City of Sidney and Cheyenne County before returning to farming. During this time Billie worked as a cook at various locations before working at Cabela’s from where she retired. They made their home on the farm before retiring to Lake McConaughy four years ago.

Survivors include her husband Arthur Frerichs; four sons: Edwin Frerichs and Georgia of Lockewood, CA, Ronnie Frerichs and Gaylin Hartzler of McCook, NE, Don Frerichs and Janelle of Sidney, NE and Gerald and Connie Frerichs of Gurley, NE; one daughter Carol Johns and Shawn of Sidney, NE; three sisters: Blanche, Ruth and Roda; 9 Grandchildren and 24 Great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
