Glenn Marr, 74 of Sidney, Nebraska and formerly of Oshkosh and Chappell died Saturday morning, June 10, 2017 at his home in Sidney.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 24th, 2017 in the Chappell United Methodist Church with Pastor Leon “Bud” Gillespie officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Chappell Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home. Friends who wish may sign the guest book at the funeral home on Friday, June 23.
Memorials have been established to the family.
Russell Glenn Marr, the son of Russell Odell and Ruth (Morgan) Marr was born July 10, 1942 at Aspen, Colorado. The family moved to Granby, Colorado where he attended school. He started working for Coors Brewing in Golden, Colorado in 1961 at the age of 18.
On November 10, 1962 he was united in marriage to Gladys Jane Stockham. She preceded him in death. At the age of 52 he retired from Coors and moved to Chappell, Nebraska. He married Beth Houser on December 8, 2007 in Chappell and they moved to Oshkosh, Nebraska in 2008. They had just recently moved to Sidney.
Glenn enjoyed everything involved in woodworking as well as hunting and fishing. He like writing poetry and loved his church.
Survivors include his wife Beth Marr of Sidney, NE; three sons: Russell Glen Marr of Arvada, CO, Donald Glenn Maar of Wray, CO and Michael James Houser of Wichita, KS; two daughters: Terri Lynn McMahon of Commerce City, CO and Lisa Marie Houser of Sidney, NE; 13 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great, great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and two sisters: Roberta Hahn and Eleanor Kolstrom.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Marr family.
