Alfred Barngrover

            Alfred Barngrover, 93 formerly of Sidney and Lodgepole died Monday morning, March 12, 2018 at the Sedgwick County Memorial Nursing Home in Julesburg, Colorado.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with inurnment and military rites to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.

            Alfred H. Barngrover, the son of Harold and Ida Stellamae (Sprorgen) Barngrover was born February 19, 1925 in Topeka, Kansas. The family moved to California where he enlisted in the Army on March 16, 1943. Following his discharge in 1946 he was united in marriage to Julia Rogers and to this union seven children were born.

            They moved to Sidney in 1977 where he was a self-employed junk man and mechanic.

            Survivors include three sons: Roger and Richard Barngrover both of Lodgepole, NE and Tony Barngrover of Renton, WA; three daughters: Ruth Ann Brown of Missouri, Sylvia Barkell of Lodgepole, NE and Linda Madison of Lexington, NE; one sister Geraldine Hanson of California and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 6 siblings and 2 grandchildren.
