Arthur Ray Breazeale, 64, of Chappell, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at home on February 10th, 2026.

Art was born May 18, 1961, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Orville and Helen Breazeale. He had fond memories as a child of growing up in Cheyenne around lots of family. He graduated from high school in Cheyenne before serving his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. Art married Linda Gimeson August 4th, 1992, in Chappell Nebraska, and together they built a life filled with adventures, laughter, and steady devotion.

After leaving the military, Arthur spent more than 30 years working as a truck driver; a career that fit him well. He valued hard work, independence, and the pride that came with providing for his family. Some of his favorite years on the road were spent team driving with his wife, Linda. On October 21st, 2024, the Nebraska Trucking Association presented Art with a President’s Safe Driving Club Award for his safe and accident-free driving for 25 years. He was an old-fashioned trucker in the best sense: if someone was pulled over on the side of the road, he stopped. If they needed help, he gave it. And more than once, he followed them to the next town or exit just to make sure they made it safely.

Art was caring, supportive, and generous; not just with his family, but with anyone who needed a hand. If someone needed help, advice, or simply someone to show up, he did. He was deeply devoted to the people in his life and steady in ways that made others feel safe. His devotion extended into the community as well, especially to the Chappell Memorial Library & Art Gallery, where he quietly contributed by providing financial support, making repairs, and helping with events whenever needed.

He grew up hunting and fishing with his family and carried that love with him throughout his life. He also enjoyed watching football and spending time with those he loved most. Halloween was his favorite holiday, and he never missed a chance to have a little fun with it. Through it all, he remained a lovable troublemaker who kept everyone on their toes and made sure life was never taken too seriously.

True to who he was, Art passed peacefully during his new nightly routine: lying in bed with Linda sitting beside him, holding her hand, watching television together. In one quiet moment, surrounded by the comfort of home and the person he loved most, he slipped away. It was simple, steady, and full of the kind of love that defined his life.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Linda and children, Anthony Gonzalez and partner Nikki of Lincoln NE, Heather Koski and husband Aaron of Gering NE, Carrie Coello and husband Eddy of Manning SC, Erick Ridgeway and wife Chasity of Manning SC, and Tommy Ridgeway and wife Amanda of Cheyenne WY, brother Larry and wife Marilyn of Houston TX, sisters Gladys Smith of Cheyenne WY, June Sheppard and husband Joe of Corsicana TX. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, who he loved dearly, 1 great-grandchild and one on the way, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Helen Breazeale; his sisters, Geraldine “Geri,” Ruth, Martha, and Charlene; his brother, Frank; and his nephew, William.

Art’s strength, steady presence, and deep love for his family, friends, and community will continue on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
