Beverly M Shepherd

November 12, 1932 — May 18, 2018

                Beverly M. Shepherd, 85, of Oshkosh, died Friday, May 18, 2018 at Tabitha- Martin House in Lincoln.

                At her request, cremation was held and a graveside service will be held at 10: 00 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Oshkosh City Cemetery. 

                Memorials may be made to donor’s choice.

                Beverly was born on November 12, 1932, on the family farm in Garden County to Damon D. and Irene Elizabeth (Bruce) Michael.  She grew up on the farm and received her early education in country schools and later in Oshkosh, graduating from Garden County High School in 1950. 

                Beverly was united in marriage to Ben “Buck” Shepherd on September 10, 1950, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.  They were baptized and confirmed in the church prior to marriage in July 1950.  They made their home in various cities and states because of Ben’s work.  Beverly served as the homemaker and caregiver most of her life.

                She is survived by her daughters, Deborah and husband Steve Vasa of Lincoln, Ne, Denice Shepherd of Tuscon, AZ; grandchildren, Jenifer, Jason and wife Vanessa Vasa of Loveland, CO, Joy and husband Joe Trent of La Vista, Ne, grandson-in-law Marvin Klement of Ulysses, Ne;  11 great-grandchildren; sisters June Schuler of Oshkosh, Anne Powers of Globe, AZ, Marilyn Baird of Rock Springs, WY, Betty and husband Don Reynolds of Overland Park, KS; sister in law, Betty Michael of Golden, CO, and brother Milton Michael of Morrill, Ne along with numerous nieces and nephews.

                She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009; her parents, sister, Jean, brothers, Richard and Donald, bothers in law Wallace Schuler, Bob Powers and George Baird and an infant brother, Darrel Oliver Michael.
