Bonnie Jean Boggs was born to Ross and Elsie Carpenter on November 22, 1934. She was the youngest of 4 children. She had 3 brothers: James (Jim), Harold (Leonard), and Sam. Jean married Dewey Boggs in 1952 in Lewellen, Nebraska and they lived in various locations in Nebraska & California. To this union was born Robert Dean and Shawn Delora.
She graduated from high school in Lewellen. In 1979, she attended Rogue Community College in Grants Pass, Oregon, where she attained her LPN degree. Later, she went on to WNCC in Scottsbluff, NE and received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse in Oregon and in Garden County Nursing Home in Lewellen.
In 1958, she found a fellowship that gave her great peace and joy in her days. There was a small fellowship meeting in her home on Sunday morning for over 30 years.
Jean loved her family and friends. She was an amazing grandmother to her grandchildren, and she always tried to keep in touch with them, even though they lived far away from her. Her daughter in law says Jean is the best mother-in-law anyone could have!
Jean is survived by son Bob, and daughter-in-law Diana, daughter Shawn and grandchildren Josh (Ciena) Cox, Hannah Squire, Ryan (Natalie) Boggs, Robin (Jason) Proskovec, Ashley Jean Boggs, Salem (Kai) Squire and Sage Squire, and 12 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by parents and siblings.
Jean passed away at Garden County Hospital, where she was lovingly cared for by the staff, many of whom she had worked with, some of whom she had trained in nursing.
