Charlene Frerichs

January 18, 1952 — January 23, 2021

Charlene (Charlee) Elizabeth Frerichs died from cancer on January 23, 2021 at the Regional West Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh, Nebraska.

Due to COVID concerns, memorial services will be planned for a later date.  She will be laid to rest in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery near Sunol.

Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations in Chappell is serving the Frerichs family.

Charlee was born to Zenobia and William (Bill) Pickerel on January 18, 1952. She graduated from Chappell High School in 1970. She married Fred William Frerichs on August 28, 1970 and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Fred and Charlee had three children, Renee Lynn, Adam John, and Aaron William.

Charlee retired from the Chappell Senior Center three years ago and enjoyed every day of her retirement.

Charlee loved to read. She also enjoyed walking and was still walking up to three miles a day before her last stay at the hospital. She did not let her cancer take that away from her. She also enjoyed taking adventures on the motorcycle with her husband. Charlee also loved shopping and having coffee with “the girls”. She enjoyed her life to the fullest.

Charlee is survived by her husband, Fred of Lodgepole, Nebraska; her daughter Renee (Jerrod) Elms; her son, Aaron Frerichs, both of Chappell, Nebraska; her grandson Levi (Elizabeth) Pottorff of Gering, Nebraska; her granddaughters Skylar Pottorff of Ft. Myers, Florida and Jadyn (Gavin) Gerold of Chappell; two great granddaughters Eloise Sky and Charlotte (Charlie) Raelynn and one greatgrand, Baby Fish of Ft. Myers, Florida; one brother Bill (Glenda) Pickerel of Torrington, Wyoming; and three sisters: Margaret (Don) Keiper of Chadron, Nebraska, Helen (Jerry) Frerichs of Sedgwick, Colorado; and Janet Pickerel-Tucker of Oshkosh, Nebraska; a sister-in-law Betty (Joe) McMahon of Papillion, Nebraska; five brothers-in-law: Virgil (Judy) Frerichs, Bob (Marty) Frerichs, Lloyd Frerichs, Leonard Weigand and John (Kim) Frerichs of Lodgepole, Nebraska, her special friend, Cindy Wilber of Chappell, Nebraska, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Adam John, and her sister, Ann Wiegand.
