Cristy Amen

Cristy Amen, 66, of Chappell passed away October 2, 2025 in her home.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Ash Hollow Cemetery in Lewellen. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Chappell Golf Course.

Memorials in Cristy’s name can be made to Adopt-A-Dog in Chappell.

Cristy was born on April 17th, 1959, in Oshkosh, Nebraska to Ron and Dixie (Rundquist) Dormann. In 1982, Cristy married the love of her life Scott and had a son and two daughters together: Andy, Amy Jo, and Fred (Camie). Cristy worked as a stay home mom, cook throughout Garden and Deuel County and lastly FVC where she considered all her second family.

Cristy loved her family, grandbabies and extended babies more than anything in the world. She enjoyed, crafting, socializing and cooking for people. She took great pride in her work at FVC and helping the local community anywhere she could.

She is survived by her children; Andy (Kristie) Amen of Bridgewater New Jersey, Amy Jo Amen (Quinten Scripter) of Johnstown Colorado, and Fred (Camie) Golding (Gene) of Kimball Nebraska. 4 grandchildren Sierra Amen, Mason Amen, Kaden Kehoe and Drew Jeppson; sister Kerri Gortemaker (Gary) and brother Chad Dormann (Michelle) and their families, cousin and close friend, Shelly Frerichs and countless extended family and friends.

Cristy is proceeded in death by her husband, Scott, parents, Ron and Dixie Dormann, sister, Rhonda Gipert, stepmother, Linda Dormann, nephew, Trent Wilson, son in law, John Kehoe, and great friend, Danny Dahlkoetter.
