Today we celebrate Darrell Dean Morrow, 70, of Lewellen formally of Ogallala NE. He passed away April 30, 2026 at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln.

Darrell was born Oct. 8, 1955 to Murl and Kathleen of Ogallala.

He attended Ogallala Schools graduating in 1973. During his High Scool years, he had fun skipping school to go fishing and drinking beer with his buddies.

Darrell grew up hunting, fishing, boating, golfing and camping along with many other outdoor activities. When his two boys grew older he spent many enjoyable hours teaching them all the things he enjoyed.

Darrell was an avid fan of Nebraska Husker sports.

Darrell was a member of the Shriners, a lifetime member of the Mason's, was involved with Pheasants Forever, the founder of the fishing tournament, Shut Up and Fish, and the Murl Morrow Golf Tournament just to name a few.

On Feb. 7 1978 he married Deb Haessler from Ogallala. Two sons were born to Darrell and Deb, Chris and Ryan. Darrell and his dad owned and worked at Union 76 from 1972 to 1997. After that Darrell and his wife Deb owned Oregon Trail Trading Post from 1997 until they retired in 2023.

Darrell is survived by his wife Deb, two sons Chris (Kim) of North Platte, Ryan (Molly) of Lewellen and two bonus grandkids of Arthur; Two grandchildren Breanna (Tristan) of Montana, and Tyler Morrow of Montana; one great granddaughter, Cora; brother's Tom and Jerry; sisters Marlene, Trudy and Carol Serverance (Brice). Also survived by his sister in law, Judy (Charlie); brother in laws, Randy (Maria) and Jerry also numerous nephews, nieces and a lot of friends.

Darrell was proceeded in death by his parent's Murl and Kathleen; His wife's parents, Virgil and Marcia Haessler, and brother in law Tim as well as his cherished friend Steve Bradley of Lewellen.

Graveside services will be held at the Lewellen Ash Creek Cemetery June 5, 2026 at 10 AM with Brenda Tophoj, PMA officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
