James “Jim” Scott Peterson, 59, of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, Nebraska, with interment to follow at Antelope Valley Cemetery north of Oshkosh.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with funeral expenses.\

Jim was born July 9, 1966, in St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota, to Merlyn and Ruth Peterson. He was raised in Springfield, Minnesota, where he spent his early years surrounded by a large family.
Jim spent much of his working life as a professional truck driver. Driving suited him well, and he built a career in the industry through long hours on the road and a strong work ethic. Over the years, he earned numerous safe driving awards, something he was especially proud of.
Earlier in life, Jim married Gail (Domeier), and together they welcomed two children, Monica and Andrew. On September 6, 1995, he married Linda (Krauter) in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Together they later welcomed two more children, Stephanie and Bryon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, in 2017, and his father, Merlyn, in 2022.
Jim is survived by his mother, Ruth Peterson of Springfield, Minnesota; his children, Monica (Phil) Lewis, Andrew Peterson, Stephanie Peterson, and Bryon Peterson; and his siblings: Dale (MaryLee) Peterson, Jeff Peterson, Tom Peterson, Jennifer Peterson, Janal (Paul) Martinka, and Paul (Sharon) Peterson. He is also survived by his great uncle, Butch Mattison, along with many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
