Janet Miller

Janet “Jan” Diane Miller, a longtime resident of Lewellen, passed away peacefully at home on December 26, 2025. She was 68 years old.

Jan was known for her kind heart and her deep love for helping others, both young and old. She had a gentle spirit, a generous nature, and a quick wit that touched many lives.

Her compassion and care for those around her will be remembered by all who knew her.

Jan is survived by her stepfather of 60 years, Delbert Hansen of Brule, NE; sisters Betty Meacham of Wichita, KS and Nancy (Jim) Palmer of Brighton, CO; numerous uncles and aunts, and many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ruth (Sparks) Hansen and Oliver “Bud” (Marybelle) Purbaugh; her aunt and uncle Alice (Sparks) and Wayne Bailey; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

No formal service will be held but her ashes will be placed at Ash Hollow Cemetery. Donations in Jan’s memory may be made to Lewellen Tiger Den (504 W. Hwy. 26, Lewellen, NE 69147) or Fern’s Felines (19991 Rd. 48, Lewellen, NE 69147).
