Jean Elizabeth Rumer, of Lisco, died Sunday morning, December 20, 2020, at Wel-Life Assisted Living of Ogallala.
Due to Covid-19, there will be a private service for immediate family only at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Burial will take place at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Oshkosh.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to Wel-Life Assisted Living in Ogallala.
Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations in Oshkosh is serving the Rumer family.
She was born June 16, 1938 in Denver, Colorado. Her parents were Reverend J. Willard Scott and Mildred M. Scott of Fort Morgan, Colorado.
Jean worked at Campbell’s Soup in Omaha where she met her husband Anthony (Tony) M. Rumer. They were married on April 11, 1969 in Plattsmouth. Jean and Tony moved to Lisco in 1974 where they resided until February, 2020. Jean enjoyed driving the bus for Lisco schools for several years. She provided valuable service to Nebraska’s youth as 4-H leader in Garden County. She worked at Cabela’s in Oshkosh from 2006 to 2017, until her retirement. Jean was a member of St. Galls Catholic Church in Lisco. She enjoyed bird watching, caring for animals, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Tony M. Rumer, her daughters, Tammy Varilak and Ladonna Rumer, her son, Michael M. Rumer, her stepdaughters, Debbie Skoglund and Patty Kimmie; and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
