John Casper Zorn, III

John Casper Zorn III passed away peacefully January 3, 2024 at Great Plains Health Center in North Platte, Nebraska.

John was born September 6, 1959, in Oshkosh Nebraska to John “Jack” Casper Zorn II and Geraldine Aldah (Delatour) Zorn.  He joined his brothers Kenny, Mike and Sam on the Zorn farm north of Oshkosh.  Two years later his sister Sally was born, completing the family.

John lived, worked, and raised his two boys, Dan and J.C., in the Nebraska Panhandle, never too far from his roots in Oshkosh.  John enjoyed telling a good story, helping Sam cut firewood in the fall, going to Smokey’s auctions to get a “deal” on tools, and grilling a tasty steak.  He could often be found helping his kind and generous friend, Tom Sullivan, with work around Tom and Shirley’s properties.

John is survived by his brothers Mike (Barb) Boone and Sam (Mary Kay) Boone; sister Sally (Dean) Corfield; sons Daniel (Amanda) Zorn and John Casper “J.C.” Zorn IV; grandchildren Lacey, Daci and Colt; and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kenny Boone.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Oshkosh Volunteer Fire Department.
