Judith Hauk, 85, of Oshkosh passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 7, 2025 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh with Father Bryan Ernest and Deacon Dixon Powers officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials in Judy’s name can be made to the family.

Judith Jane “Judy” Hauk was born July 24, 1940 in Princeton, Illinois to Henry and Lucille (Hopkins) Nielsen. She was raised on the family farm. She graduated from high school in 1958 and then attended business school for 3 months earning a certificate. She began working at a local credit union.

She was united in marriage to Delmar Hauk on January 31, 1959, in Sheffield, Illinois. The couple welcomed 4 children: Lynn, Lori, Lisa, and Luke. The family moved around living in Illinois, Lakewood, Colorado, and finally Oshkosh, Nebraska.

Judy enjoyed crafting, true crime, shopping, reading her bible, but above all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everywhere she went she was easily able to make friends and could talk to anyone.

She was a life-long devoted Catholic and a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.

Judy is survived by her children: Lynn (Charles) Howard of Concord, NC, Lori Thompson of Lakewood, CO, and Lisa Hauk of Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren, Marla, Amber, Randy, Angel, G. Milan, Matthew, Scott, David, Mary and Beth; great-grandchildren, including Lestat, Corbin, Lydia and others; daughter-in-law, Christine Hauk of Lake Mac, sister, Pat Wooldridge of IA; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2006, son, Luke in 2022; sisters, Annette Spero and Mary Lou Bitting, son-in-law, Milan Thompson and great-grandson, Josh Avolio.
