Kenny was a proud Veteran, dog lover, avid sports fan, uncle and friend.  He peacefully passed away at the Western Nebraska Veterans Home in the early morning of December 16, 2023 at age 76 joining his best friends over the rainbow bridge.  

 

 A memorial service for Kenny Roudebush will be held at 11:00 am Saturday January 13, 2024 at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Neal officiating and Military honors provided by the US Army. Burial in the Oshkosh City Cemetery will be held at a later date.

 

Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations in Oshkosh is serving the Roudebush family.

 

He was born to Ross and Sheila (Hinsdale) Roudebush on January 13, 1947 in Oshkosh, NE.  He was one of five children. He grew up in Oshkosh and attended Oshkosh Elementary School and graduated from Garden County High School in 1965.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and entered into service, June 1965. He earned the rank of E5. He was discharged in May 1974.

 

He then worked for McDonall Douglass as a computer programmer.  He married and divorced during this time.  Following this venture, he moved back to the Oshkosh area and began a long career as an over the road truck driver.

 

Kenny was an avid animal lover who spoiled each and every dog he ever owned.  He was all about rescuing animals in need. He always made sure they had more food and snacks than he had.  Kenny was part of the Ogallala Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and the Chappell VFW.  He loved family holidays and enjoyed playing cards with his siblings. He loved watching Husker football and volleyball as well as all of the Eagles sports.

 

Kenny enjoyed dining out and socializing at local restaurants.

 

Kenny is survived by special family members, Teresa & Dale Jenkins and Tammy Krauter as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Kenny is preceded in death by his Parents; Ross and Sheila Roudebush, Siblings; Donna Noland, Glenna Woolery, Sandy Howell & Larry Roudebush.
