Lavonne Noetzelmann, 88, of Oshkosh passed away Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2025 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center.
A gathering of family and friends for visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Oshkosh. A private family graveside will be held later at the Oshkosh City Cemetery.
Memorials in Lavonne’s name can be made to donor’s choice.
Lavonne was born July 7, 1936 in Hayland, Nebraska to Perl and Effie Hill. She was raised in Fullerton, Nebraska and attended school there. She graduated from Fullerton High School. After she graduated the family moved to Lewellen.
She met and married John Noetzelmann on September 4, 1958 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The family had 3 children: Mike, Julie, and Rudy. They made their home in Grand Junction, Colorado and Missouri before returning to the area in 1977 and then Wyoming for 4 years before settling permanently in Oshkosh in 1981.
Lavonne worked many years in the kitchen at the Oshkosh Hospital. She was a member of the Oshkosh Methodist Church. She was a prolific crocheter, making all sorts of gifts and useful items. She enjoyed visiting with her neighbors at Mesa Vue and having coffee with the girls weekly.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Cindy Leibee) Noetzelmann of Oshkosh and Rudolph (Lisa) Noetzelmann of Custer, SD; daughter Julie (Russell) Eggers of Boise, ID; 6 grandchildren; sister, Jackie Bennett; special friends Jody and Pete Roberson; and other extended family members and friends.
Lavonne was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1989, and brothers, Norman, Dick, and Robert.
