   Lillace R. Brott, 80, of Chappell passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, September 8, 2020 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center- Extended Care.

     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chappell with Reverend Neil Carlson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Chappell.

     Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations in Chappell is serving the Brott family.

     Memorials can be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or Chappell Volunteer Fire Department (c/o Steve Brott PO Box 594, Chappell, NE 69129).

     Lillace Ray Brott was born June 3, 1940 in Chappell, Nebraska to Arthur Jennings and Mary Bernice (Gyger) Brestel.   Lillace attended Chappell High School where she participated in chorus, band, and tennis.  After graduating high school in 1958, she attended Chadron State College then moved to Ogallala and worked at TRW.

     She was united in marriage to Marvin L. Brott on December 8, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chappell.  Before Marvin’s passing, they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2013.  

     Lillace was a dedicated farm wife and mother, raising her sons, Steve and Joel.  She also worked at the local grocery store, Farm Bureau, and was a rural mail carrier for many years. 

    Lillace was an active member of her community and church, Zion Lutheran Church in Chappell.  She held different offices and was continually active in LWML and PEO and played piano at Sunday services.  Lillace was an excellent cook and enjoyed canning, baking, and gardening.   She enjoyed spending time with friends, especially her Bridge Clubs, Birthday Club, and Supper Club.  She was a talented piano player and also enjoyed playing cards, quilting, cross stitching, and traveling.

    Lillace is survived by two sons:  Steve and wife, Kelle, of Chappell, NE and Joel and wife Susan, of Lincoln, NE; five grandchildren:  Kori (Andrew) Yendra, Cody Scofield(fiancé Gabriella Erinne), Kegan (Halie) Brott, Colin Brott and Alena Brott; four great-grandchildren:  Max, Parker and Kyndel Yendra and Cal Brott; brother,  Max Brestel; in-laws, Clint Peters, Harvey (Jeanne) Brott, Katherine (Ronald) Stuehm, Shirley Brott and numerous nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, in 2016, siblings, Beverly Peters, Ross Brestel and Kent Brestel and her parents, Arthur and Bernice Brestel.
