Mary Lou Weih-Porter, 81, of Oshkosh, passed away Wednesday morning, January 17, 2024 at Emerald Court in Scottsbluff.

 Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Oshkosh Wesleyan Church with Pastor Bruce Neal officiating.  Burial in the Arthur Cemetery will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday. 

Visitation will be held 3:00 pm. to 6:00 pm Wednesday at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Oshkosh.

Memorials in Mary Lou’s name can be made to the church.

Mary Lou was born July 29, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ellsworth and Mary Higgins. She grew up on a small farm in Hinkley Ohio with her sister Ruby and brothers Bill and Norm. After graduating high school in 1960 she married Wesley Weih, her high school sweetheart who she was married for 27years. In 1961 they welcomed their son Jim and in1968 their daughter Diana. In 1970 the family moved to Aurora, Co. Mary Lou was blessed to be able to say at home to raise her children until Diana was in middle school. Through the years she enjoyed Camping, bowling, baking, playing cards and board games with family and friends.

After a wonderful friendship, on February 14, 1992 she was united in marriage to Dwight Porter who she loved dearly until the day she passed.  She gained 3 sons and 3 daughters.  Mary Lou and Dwight enjoyed traveling to see their family from coast to coast, and watching their grandchildren grow up.

Mary Lou enjoyed cooking, decorating her home, painting ceramics, collecting Precious Moments figurines, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight Porter of Oshkosh; son, Jim (Nataly) Weih of South Carolina; daughter Diana (Steve) Hay of South Carolina; 3 step-sons, Dwight Jr (Renee) Porter of Lake Mahoney, Mark Porter of Douglas, WY, Nick (Brandy) Porter of Florida; step-daughters, Jodee, Jeanne and Cassie(Guillermo); daughter in law, Lonna Porter; 26 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby (Dave) Case of Ohio; extended family members, cousins and many many friends.

 Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, William and Norman Higgins; step daughter, Barbie; and a special daughter, Heather.
